Kings Dominion

Alex and I took the boys to Kings Dominion today.  We lucked out:  it was not crowded and the weather was perfect.

Brothers!

Jack and Robert driving a Jeep.

I forgot to tell the boys not to take the Jeep off-road (just kidding).  The Jeep went off the track and got stuck.  Here is a picture of the staff helping the boys out.  They then closed the ride.  Oops.

Bumper Cars.  It didn't go very well.  Jack immediately got stuck in a corner and couldn't get out.  Robert didn't know how to steer and drove in a circle the entire time.

Robert actually won this Spongebob by himself by throwing a ball in a basket.  He made it on his second try.  Alex then tried to win another one for Jack because the boys were already fighting over it, but he wasn't successful.

Asleep!  Always a sign of a good day.

Jack crashed hard in the car, too.  Notice the handful of cotton candy he refused to give up.

British Soccer Camp

Robert finished his week long soccer camp today.  He attended the camp with friends Luke, Paige and Hudson.  We celebrated by going to Friendly's for a make-your-own sundae:

I love the excited look on Luke's face as he dribbles the ball.

Uh oh, when the boys hug it always turns into...

Misc pictures from this week

Robert and friend Christina.  She is actually Jack's age, but Robert enjoyed being the big kid and holding her hand on our walk.

We had a playdate at Burke Lake.  Here are the boys with their friends.

Springfield 5k race

I ran the Springfield 5k race this morning, pushing the boys in the stroller.  Unfortunately, there was a hill on the course and I could feel all 80 pounds of the stroller and boys.  I pleaded with Robert to get out and run up the hill to lighten up the load, but he refused...much to the amusement of nearby runners.

Robert also loves to ask me a million questions whenever I run with the stroller.  I try to explain that I can't carry on a conversation at the moment because mommy is running and can barely breathe, but that doesn't stop him.  However, he did stop with the questions for a brief moment to explain to me about how AT&T has a 4G phone that lets you "tax" and talk at the same time!!!  He tells me as though this is the most amazing discovery he's ever heard and insists I must buy it immediately.  I think someone is watching too much TV.

Me, with the boys right before the race.  Note, that I am wearing an old Concert t-shirt.  I am still waiting for my sister and brother-in-law to send me Clicker shirts.  Think of all the free advertising you'll get when I run races.  Size small, please.  Plus, someone who shall remain nameless thinks the tag line on the back of the shirt is too risque, yet this same person still does not see what is wrong with a  mother (of teenagers) wearing a big peckers shirt.

Jack loves to wear adult size t-shirts.  He refused to take the racing shirt off all day.  He'll probably wear it to bed tonight, too.

At the end of the race, they had a moon bounce and kid-fit activities.  Here are the boys racing around cones.
