Pictures from the park

We met Uncle Tim at the sprayground park a few weeks ago.  The boys had a great time and loved seeing their uncle!

Robert loves the water!

So does Jack.

No, this isn't Gwen Stefani's kid....it's just Jack, looking very cool for a 2 year old

Alex and me, trying to stay cool in the shade.  It was a very hot day.

Afterwards, we went to a cupcake bakery.  Can you see the drool hanging from Robert's mouth?

This was Jack's dream come true:  to be surrounded by lots of cupcakes

The videos don't seem to be working for everyone, so here is the youtube link:

Great Wolf Lodge- July 2011

I'm just now getting around to posting about our 2 day trip to Great Wolf Lodge (GWL) in Williamsburg.  This was our third trip to GWL.  As the boys are getting older, the trips to GWL are becoming more fun for their daddy and me.

This time, Jack wasn't restricted to the toddler area.  We put him on one of the water tube slides (the Totem Tower slides that come down the fort) and either Alex or I waited at the bottom to catch him.  I wish I had taken pictures of that.  He looked so small at the top of the tube slide, but when he reached the bottom he had a huge smile on his face.

Robert was feeling adventurous and allowed me to take him on the bigger tube ride, the Alberta Falls.  I had tried on our last trip to get him on this ride, but had no success.  Robert and I rode on a double tube together, he was in the front and I was in the back.  When the ride dumped us in the pool, Robert flew out of the tube and landed face first into the pool.  The next time we rode, I wrapped my feet around his chest to keep him in the tube.  He was very upset and told me not to do that; he actually enjoyed flying in the air and into the pool.

After dinner, the boys enjoyed a show in the lobby while wearing their pajamas.  There they learned how to correctly execute a Great Wolf howl.  Here is a video of Jack:

And of course Robert had to take his turn in front of the camera:

4th of July parade

This year we decided to be in the local 4th of July parade instead of just being spectators.  Here are the boys on their bikes we decorated for the holiday:

All the kids lined up, waiting for the parade to begin

Jack actually rode his tricycle the entire way without stopping.

Robert is yelling at me that he didn't want to be in the parade.  He wanted to watch the parade so he could catch the candy that people were throwing.

Me and Jack.  Jack was happy and did not complain once.

Let's see how Robert is doing.  Oops, still crying over not being able to catch candy on the sidelines.

At the end of the parade, the kids got ice cream!

We met up with friends Max and Tess at the end of the parade

Grandma and GrandDad came out to cheer for the boys.

Diving Board

Robert is so excited that he can now jump off the diving board at our pool.  And not just the low dive; he can also jump off the high dive.  Since he's not a strong swimmer, he wears a Speedo swim vest.  Thanks to my Nikon camera, I got some pretty cool pictures today at the pool:

Ready....

Jump!

Diving off the low dive...

Oh, wait! I changed my mind and will jump instead!

Sandy Point Beach

On Friday, the family headed to Sandy Point Beach.  It is located right next to the Bay Bridge.  While we were having fun in the water, the 4th of July holiday traffic was crawling at 5 mph on the bridge towards the MD/DE beaches.

Sandy Point is great for little kids.  It is really the bay, so there are very little waves.  They also have a nice bath house that you can shower in before heading home.  The best part about Sandy Point is that it took just a little over an hour to get there.
